Loving Home Needed for Nera, Our Gentle Giant

Nera has been a beloved family member since she was a puppy. Now six years old, she joined us on Christmas Eve from a reputable breeder and is a Kennel Club registered pedigree with impressive lineage—her great-grandmother was the dog featured as Fang in Harry Potter! She is microchipped, and her papers are available.

Nera is the matriarch of our household, a calming and loving presence. She’s even been a surrogate mother to a few pug litters! While she’s more relaxed these days, she occasionally enjoys playing with our children (ages 14, 12, 11, and 5) and other dogs. She’s great with kids but can accidentally bump smaller ones due to her size. She’s equally suited to a lively household or a quiet home as a loyal companion.

Nera’s calm temperament means she isn’t fazed by fireworks or household chaos. However, she will confidently but gently stand her ground if another dog behaves aggressively toward her or her family. While she’s wary of men in caps, this is more caution than fear.

As a large breed, she requires an experienced owner who can handle her size and strength responsibly. She is not a guard dog and shouldn’t be treated as one. She thrives on routine, eating Eukanuba Puppy Giant Breed kibble (softened for ease), and enjoys chewing tough bones after meals.

Health-wise, Nera had cherry eye repaired as a puppy and has a slight elbow weakness from an old injury, which is managed with joint supplements. She’s recovering from a phantom pregnancy, and we’ll ensure her health is up-to-date before rehoming.

Sadly, due to work relocation and the need to move into accommodation unsuitable for her size, we’ve made the difficult decision to rehome her. We’re seeking a forever home with an experienced, loving owner who understands the needs of a giant breed.
