The breed is an extremely labor-intensive dog, which thrives best with an active hunter who can utilize the dog's full potential. It is agile and muscular, and needs physical exercise and mentally stimulating tasks, but it also needs close contact with the person it is most connected with.
The Bavarian Mountain Scent Hound have the task of finding and following traces of the wounded game, so that its suffering can be ended quickly.
