Tess (Ellie's Canine Rescue & Rehome)

Tess is an extremely loving, affectionate 1yr old female, large, Lab/Collie mix with something else.

Good with cats: No
Good with dogs: She requires a slow, quiet introduction to other dogs. Other dogs sometimes react to her approach as her body language appears quite dominant and she in turn can react to this reaction. She mostly just really wants to play and can be a bit too boisterous upon meeting other dogs, which can elicit a negative reaction from them.

Good with children under 10: Yes - Tess absolutely loves kids of all ages but still sometimes jumping up upon greeting.
Good with children over 10: Yes
Needs fencing at least: 1.5m high and secure
Can be left alone during work hours: Not initially

Tess is an absolute sweetheart, a gentle giant with humans. She loves to lick her humans and foster (dog) brother all over. She just wants to be with you, and will happily follow you around while you go about your day.

She learns very quickly and has already picked up her name, come, sit, lie down, bed, crate, outside, and is getting better at stay. She's easily trainable with treats and we are currently working on her recall.

Tess has great lead manners, with a loose lead by your side, she still needs to work on not pulling when distractions arise.

Tess needs an experienced owner, dedicated to continuing her training. Her fosters are working with a trainer.

Ellie’s Canine Rescue are based in the Greater Wellington region, depending on the dog we do adopt out of the Wellington region but request any potential owner meet us and the dog in person and if successful drive home with the dog. We do not ship dogs unmet. Undesexed dogs and puppies are not rehomed outside of the Greater Wellington Region.
