ABOUT

- Desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, registered.
- Medical history: patella (knee) surgery.
- Pet and cat friendly, house trained, intelligent, loving, loyal and playful.
- Reactive, fearful aggressive, not social with strangers or children, separation anxiety.
- Seeking forever home with committed experienced owners.
- Ideal home: retired person(s), residential section, no children.

Adopted at 6 months when advertised for rehoming. In his former apartment home he was not socialised as a puppy, with unresolved behavioural issues. His behaviour requires ongoing managing, routine and boundaries. He requires a specific home with a knowledgable owner.

He has spent time with a canine behaviourist, which helped understand his anxiety and put in place boundaries. He is reactive and fearful aggressive (and would bite if felt cornered). He is weary of strangers, but good with people he knows. He functions best with routine in a quiet household with no children. He has experience with children, but is not child-safe due to his reactive nature. He is on a lead or under supervision near children.

He is great with animals, has no desire to escape the section, is excellent on the lead, enjoys outings (eg. in bike basket, kayaking) and is a good car traveller. He would feel at ease in a household with a small dog, or would be fine as the only dog. He is weary of large dogs due to having been charged at by off lead dogs - he is fine once he knows these are safe.

We live on 2 acres, which is not helpful in regards to reactivity. He feels he has to be on constant guard, a small residential property (with less territory to oversee) will reduce his anxiety levels. He does not bark excessively, but is reactive to perceived threats. He requires someone who is retired or works from home, regarding separation anxiety.
