Meet Arnie!

Arnie is a 1-year-old mixed breed who just joined us from the Christchurch City Pound, and he’s already stealing hearts left and right! Though he’s still undergoing assessment, one thing is clear—Arnie is a bundle of slobbery kisses and pure love. Weighing in at 25 kg, Arnie would be considered a medium to large breed.

This young man has an affectionate nature that will brighten any home. We’re getting to know him better each day, but if first impressions are anything to go by, Arnie is going to make someone very happy! His nature is very chilled—he loves watching the world go by from his cozy bed and coming in for lots of love when offered.

Arnie is a strong boy, but he’s already developing good lead skills and walks very nicely in the local red zone! He’s currently undergoing his intake assessment, which includes mixing with other dogs at the shelter, as well as cat-testing and kid-testing. Our team will provide all this information during the adoption application process.

Arnie's ideal home would have a secure backyard for him to enjoy his zoomies, dog-confident children (at this stage, we believe Arnie is better suited with older children), and a commitment to ongoing training and exercise.
