Has anyone tried booking car service online instead of calling around?

I'm probably showing my age here, but I still default to calling garages directly whenever my car needs something because that's just what I've always done, but lately I've been noticing that getting through to anyone takes forever and half the time they just tell me to bring the car in and they'll "have a look" without giving me any idea of cost or timeframe. My son keeps telling me to just book everything online because apparently that's how everyone does it now, and he showed me https://800sayara.com/ where you can pick your service, see prices upfront, and choose a time slot that actually works for you without playing phone tag with receptionists. I have to admit the idea of not having to explain my car's problem to five different people before getting an answer is really appealing, but I'm old school and I like talking to a human being who can answer questions on the spot. I'm just wondering if the online process is actually as straightforward as it looks or if there are hidden complications that pop up once they show up. For example, what if they arrive and find something unexpected that wasn't covered in the initial booking, do they just call you and explain it right there or do you have to go through some complicated change order process? Also, is it easy to reschedule if something comes up last minute? I'd love to hear from people who've actually used this approach regularly, especially anyone else who was initially skeptical like me but made the switch and found it worked well.
